Never fall in love with a poet – by A. Thomas Hawkins

Never fall in love with a poet
for their words are sometimes lies
on occasions they’re a shield
on occasions a disguise

They will take you on a journey
upon which they bare their soul
in a bid to ease your burdens
in a bid to make you whole

But in every word they choose
for the stories that they tell
lies a little piece of heaven
and a little piece of hell

Tormented souls we poets are
sometimes quite broken and despaired
in search of lost expressions
missed by others who once cared

Never fall in love with a poet
unless you’re prepared to share their pain
to hold them close on the darkest nights
over and again

A. Thomas Hawkins

A friend of mine shared this the other night. A poem filled with captivating imagery, begging the reader to do the opposite and fall in love with the poet. The last stanza reminds me of “Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines” penned by the great Pablo Neruda.

Shopping Is Fun Now For Web Shoppers

Have you ever thought why countless people are getting online these days? It is quite tiresome to extract out the exact number of people who are involved in online purchasing.  The preference of a number of people is more towards online stores than the authentic brick and mortar stores. Web shops like Snapdeal are convenient for anyone and at any time to purchase clothes and jewelry at discounted price. Shopping from this store is less stressing with multiple options to choose. Being a writer I find it helpful to shop online and not be bothered by having to fall in line at the mall.

Tips for Shoppers

Christmas fest has arrived with many offers for the consumers of Snapdeal. Women can adore themselves with exceptional dresses, which are proffered at meager price tags. Now there is no need to walk from store to store, everything is ready for you online. It would be excellent if you can manage to purchase Snapdeal coupon codes from Couponmama.in. It is an authentic place to purchase coupon codes of notable online brands. If you want a pretty and dazzling dress for Christmas Eve, just make your mind for Snapdeal. Literally, for clothes shopping this is one and the only stoppage. Try to make good use of coupon codes to pick branded pair of jeans at rational prices.

This festive season you can surprise your friend with a unique birthday present at discounted rate. During navigation, you’ll find jewelry for special events which can upgrade your status in the upcoming parties. All sorts of jewelry pieces can be booked with few mouse clicks to make special events even more special. Gold pendants, sparking necklaces, bracelets and a lot more is there to make you feel pleased. Don’t forget to assemble Snapdeal coupon codes in your shopping. This can reduce your expenses a great deal.

The Year of Books and Coffee

coffeeandbooks

I only have two resolutions for this year.

First, I promise to drink good coffee. I’ve been quite a cheapskate the past year that I spent more time drinking instant coffee than brewed ones. It doesn’t make my love for coffee any less, but I realized that life is too short to waste it not drinking good coffee.

Second, I promise to read good books. Though “good” is a relative word in the world of literature, I promise to read more books that I actually like. I’m tired of reading books that only critics will appreciate. I will no longer feel guilty for reading chic lit or young adult. I’m free to read anything I want.

How about you? What’s your new year’s resolution? 🙂

We’ll Make It Through

46daf67286c67f56eacd032fecd19d39Just less than a month left before the end of the year, and sometimes I feel like drowning. There are so many things left for me to do and I often wonder if I can finish it all.

There’s the novel that still has no ending.

There are numerous articles to be edited.

There’s a need to look for a better career.

There’s the question about graduate school that needs to be answered.

I need a giant heave that will carry me through the end of December.

So, who’s with me?

Always by Pablo Neruda

I am not jealous
of what came before me.

Come with a man
on your shoulders,
come with a hundred men in your hair,
come with a thousand men between your breasts and your feet,
come like a river
full of drowned men
which flows down to the wild sea,
to the eternal surf, to Time!

Bring them all
to where I am waiting for you;
we shall always be alone,
we shall always be you and I
alone on earth,
to start our life!

One of my favorite poems from my favorite author. Just thought of sharing it to my readers. 🙂
